A few years ago I SEARCHED and SEARCHED for a cute, kid-friendly nativity set to buy for my kids. Growing up, we had a nativity set we
loved playing with the whole Christmas season. I must say, I found the
perfect nativity from fisherprice.com. My mom and dad bought it for us and got a set for all of my sisters and brother too. My kids
ADORE this set and play with it daily. When you push the angel on top of the stable, the star lights up and it plays
Away in a Manger. It's a great way to teach the story of Christ's birth! Although Fisher-Price has changed it a bit since we bought it, it is a MUST HAVE! The best part is that it's
very affordable!

My mom started a great tradition one year by wrapping up the baby Jesus from our nativity set. When we were all done opening presents on Christmas day, she pulled out one last present for all the grandkids to open. When they unwrapped baby Jesus she told them that He was the
GReAteST gift we could ever get on Christmas. It helped really put the focus on what Christmas is all about!!!

For anyone out there like me, who's not crafty enough to make their own Pottery Barn Christmas countdown, I thought this was a great alternative. Tavin loves how it matches his natvity set. (Also from fisherprice.com)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Funny you mentioned the Pottery Barn countdown--I am one who thought maybe there was a chance that I might possibly be crafty enough to make one--I was wrong. It is all shoved in a box in my craft room, unfinished (and the part that is finished is too ugly to pull out). Might have to get the fisher price one!
Buying that nativity today! Thanks for sharing the idea! Hope you guys are getting settled in nicely. We need to talk again soon.
I have a nativity countdown similar to this... but not nearly as cute. And I have a nativity that the boys are allowed to play with but I need something better. Amy and I were just talking about the fisherprice one today (she has one). Playmobile also has one which Rich just loves... and it's cheaper (but not nearly as cute!) I'm going to have to get one of them soon!
we have that nativity but it doesn't have all of those pieces and our star doesnt light up!!! Bummer! I am going to have to look for the rest of the pieces at the store!!
Totally need to get those! SO CUTE!!! i love the wrapping baby Jesus idea!
We got the nativity last year, AYda was beyond excited to get it back out. And Zander loves away in a manger! A must have!
If you end up with a half a dozen or so comments from me I'm sorry...I keep getting an error message, anyway I was trying to say what a great idea the fisher price nativity scene is I didn't know that they made ones for kids to play with.
Ooh, I love it! I just might have to go buy this nativity set. Thanks for the idea!
I too love this Nativity set! My Mom & Dad bought it for Carson a few years ago. He likes to play with it year round actually. I love that Christmas countdown, I may have to get one of those too!
I can just picture you sitting there setting up the nativity to take the picture and not let the kids touch it until you are done. Ha. It's set up so perfect. We have it too and it never looks like that, I can hardly ever find the baby Jesus. I love it too. I miss you. See you soon.
