"COMMENTS
I was just posting a comment on a friend's blog, and it got me thinking about a couple of things. Feel free to respond to my questions in the comment section below.
1-How do you respond to people's comments? Do you post a comment on your own blog, under the other person's comment? I don't always go back and look at the comment section of someone else's blog after I have posted, so I don't know if the person would see it. Do you post a comment on their blog under a possible completely unrelated post, in the hopes they will remember what they posted so they will know what they are talking about? And should you reference their post in your comment, even if it is something you might not normally comment on?
2-Is it proper blogging etiquette to always post a comment on someone's blog? I personally don't always, either because I don't have anything new to add, I am too lazy, I don't know the person (oops, does that happen?), etc. But I feel sad sometimes when nobody makes a comment on my postings. I like to know that people care at least a little bit to look at my blog. But, just because I don't always comment doesn't mean I don't care, right?
3-How do you feel about posting on a blog for a person you don't know? Come on, I know you all do it--blog hopping, blog stalking, whatever you want to call it. I know I do--I even have a few links to people I have never met. My mother-in-law reads my sisters' blogs to find out what is happening in the family, not technically looking at a stranger's blog, but still.
4-Would you like strangers posting on your blog? Obviously this question is for people with non-private blogs. I assume most strangers don't get invited to read private blogs.
5-Why don't you leave comments on my blog? I know you read it, because you tell me so later. (You know who you are!)"

what did ally's blog say? now I'm confused. i think if you sort of know them, you should comment and let them know you were there and found their blog- at least once. that's what i try to do. if i don't know them, i don't comment. if someone i didn't know commented on my blog, i'd be creeped out. but why? i don't know because i look at strangers blogs so it shouldn't be weird to me that other people might look at mine... i dunno. its weird. you know what i hate the most? is people who have those things on the side of their blog that shows when and where you came from. i limit myself when looking at their blog, because i don't want them to think i'm stalking them. i hate those things...
I'm with rachel! I hate those tracker things.
And I also blog stalk rachels blog every once in a while, maybe I should start leaving comments!

Yeah this is definitely funny and I question the ettiquite too! If someone asks a question in a comment on one of my posts I usually just comment an answer or let them know some other way, email, text whatever is easier! And I usually just comment if I feel like it, whether I know them or not.. but never anything derogatory! That is just mean and why ruin someone's day you don't even know.. you know?? Anyways I've never seen one of those blog tracker thingies.. guess i should keep my eye out for it tho since I would probably be considered a stalker on some blogs! ;)
I love this Melissa! Lol I am with Rach on the whole tracking device thingy! There is someones blog (I won't name who) I love reading, but I'm sure she doesn't remember me or know who I am...anyways, I just realized she has a tracker! Oh man! So I wonder if she knows I'm a stalker! lol. Whatever, she always has fun blogs! Anyways.....I'm gonna ask you a question and I'll check back soon for the answer...when are you coming back out here!?! I miss you!! July?? Love you!

Ohhh, it's so true! What does a person do? Even though I may not always comment on every post I like to leave comments as often as I can so people know I love them and care about their family and what they are writing. It's really important to get that feedback. So this comment = I love you guys!
Read....comment sometimes when I have something to say.....but I do love to see the photos and videos! And no, I don't read strangers blogs, unless it is related to business. Good post Melissa....if you see this! :-)
