House Arrest

www.thefreedictionary.com defines "house arrest" as:

"Confinement to one's home or another specified location instead of incarceration in a jail or prison."

I have been on house arrest for the last few weeks. Not because of any crime I have committed, but because my kiddos and I have been sick WAY TOO LONG, the mosquitos are more insane than I could have ever imagined, and my hubby has been working 100+ hours a week.

Some highlights...

*Less wash because we stayed in our jammies all day almost every day.

*Saved money on groceries because no one had much of an appetite.

*Bought a $10 pool for hours of entertainment in the front yard. (But probably used $20 of bug spray.)

Tavin & Kirra, and their friends, Elisa & Lydia.

*Celebrated my birthday and Mother's Day in our jammies.

*Watched a few thunderstorms. I've never seen rain come down so hard in my life! It's AMaZiNG!

That's our life in a nutshell these days. Pretty exciting!

How do you do it with Brett working so much?! You are a saint. It is hard. Hope you got a day on Sunday with Brett around and of no diapers, no cleaning messes, no feeding kiddos, and no diapers or wiping bums! Hang in there.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear about your house arrest. 100 plus hours a week for your hubby too, that is tough.

Hope you're all better soon!

And my ringless finger that you mentioned... that's my right hand!! And I actually ALWAYS wear another ring that Jake gave me on that hand, and for some reason I did not have it on that night. But my wedding ring was on, just not the hand you were looking at. :)

SO SORRY that you and your family have been so sick. Love that you pointed out the positives of the whole bit and not the negatives :) Happy Birthday by the way :)
Hope you are all feeling better very soon!

Hope the sickness is all gone and...is a month too late to wish you a happy birthday? I hope you were able to find some happiness amidst the sickness. Nothing a $10 pool can't fix. Ours finally broke after it turned into an ice pond from the late winter-like weather we had here. My kids then tried to get the slip-n-slide out on Friday. That had been thrown away too. In a moment of desperation, I said "the church sprinklers are on." Sure enough, I look back to see my kids running through the sprinklers at the church behind us. I had to laugh but does that make me a bad mom? Nope, just desperate in the moment. Way to go for finding the positive (money saving, less laundry, inexpensive pool, unfortunate bugs) in the middle of a not so fun run of sickness!
