Christmas came a little early

Santa knew we'd be flying to California on Christmas Day so he decided to come a little early to the Jones household to let Tavin and Kirra have a few days to play with their new toys. I'll be honest, it was a little sad not celebrating on the 25th and esp. not in New Mexico (with Brett's family) where we were supposed to be this year.

Tavin was a blast this year though because he LOVED every part of Christmas... the Fisher-Price Nativity, all the lights, our Christmas trees, the presents, the many Christmas movies he watched, everyone's blow up lawn decor, the candy and goodies...everything but Santa himself.

Kirra had the same love for Santa that Tavin did.
(Our Ward Christmas Party.)

Tavin wouldn't even go near him. Why is it that kids can be obsessed with the idea of Santa and Christmas, and even understand that he's the one that brings them gifts, but still want nothing to do with him? Instead Tavin ate candy for dinner at our ward Christmas party.

This picture makes him look like he's part of the "all-noggin team." I know his forehead is more like a five or sixhead like his mom and dad, but this is an unfair shot of the poor guy. We were just trying to get a close-up of his mouth.

It's tradition to get jammies on Christmas Eve. I think Kirra's favorite gift were her slippers. We know she adores shoes, so we figured the slippers might be a hit, but we didn't know to what extent. She cried if they fell off or if you took them off. She wore them for days, even to bed every night. If she woke up in the night and they had fallen off...she cried.

Tavin loved his too! He thinks they make him really fast.

We woke up "Christmas Day" when Tavin came dragging his new bike into our room. He told us he must have been really good and on Santa's nice list because Santa brought him presents. We busted up laughing. That was my threat to him the whole month of December..."If you're not nice Santa won't bring you any presents."

Video of Tavin eating Santa's left over cookie.

Santa brought Tavin a bike with training wheels this year. Mom and Dad got him this trash truck like his friend, Brady's.

Santa brought Kirra her 2nd love.. a doll, and a cradle. Mom and Dad got her this Little People dollhouse.

My kids were spoiled rotten by their Aunts and Uncles, Grandmas and Grandpas, and even Great Grandmas and Grandpas.

After presents we ate some yummy Monkey Bread and then put Baby Jesus back into the nativity and talked about the true meaning of Christmas.
