Summertime + the livin's easy

Time to play catch-up!

We live in California for summer days at the beach. I must say, for me, heaven will be one big, beautiful beach! We're there as often as can be! Kirra has no fear and crawls straight into the water at every chance. When she's not in the water, she's eating sand - handfuls and handfuls of it. Tavin loves the water, smashing sand castles, and climbing the rocks to look for crabs.


With my parents selling the houseboat at Lake Powell, Tavin, Kirra, and I had to go. It was more than a BLAST! Tavin is still asking to go on the houseboat and jetski. I was a single parent, but I had TONS and TONS of help, and still found time to airchair and attempt the wakekite. THANK YOU EVERYONE!


Unfortunately we couldn't get out to New Mexico this year for the 4th because of Brett's new job. Instead we hung out in Corona and went to the city fireworks show. Kirra loved the fireworks, but Tavin was so afraid and would only watch them through the slits of his fingers. Instead of calling them big fireworks, we told him to look at the little fireworks and suddenly his hands were no longer over his eyes.


We were able to tour the fire station. Tavin's obsessed with fire trucks so I thought he'd love it...boy was I wrong. I have never seen a bigger melt down in all my life, for no reason. If you notice, he is not in a single picture.


Auntie Cindel came in to town for a work convention and then she stayed a couple extra days with us. She was like Santa Claus in summer. She came bearing gifts galore. She manages a toy store and knew the perfect and cutest gifts for Tavin and Kirra. They love their auntie Cindel!




Auntie Rach is having a baby girl VERY, VERY soon. She came out to visit one last time before the baby. My mom, my sister Christi, and I threw her a shower. She loves owls so we went with that for the cutest shower theme ever!


Tavin and Brett went on their first Father and Sons outing. Tavin wants to go "painting" (aka: camping) again real soon. They had a ball!




We still enjoy using our San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park passes.

Some other family highlights are:

Tavin is potty trained and never had to use a pull-up. He is at such a fun stage. He keeps us constantly laughing and loves to make Kirra laugh.

Kirra now has 5 teeth. The first tooth on top was her eye tooth...weird! Her nickname was "snaggle-tooth" for a while. She gives the BEST hugs and loves to cuddle. She is such a good baby, but is a total drama queen already.

I ran my first race ever, a half marathon. I must admit, I was shocked because I did it in pretty dang good time too. :)

Brett turned 30! Man he's old!
