Growing up my dad taught us all the tricks to catching lizards.
"Don't grab them by the tail, it will just fall off."
"Get the hose and spray them. They'll freeze and then you can pick them up."
We spent hours and hours catching, collecting, and trying to domesticate lizards. I found it quite fitting that my dad was the first to catch Tavin a lizard.

I actually have memory of you catching a lizard with the Johnson boys (was that their name?) who lived across the street from you.
I'm terrified of lizards. They're gross. We have millions and I try to convince my boys they're scary so they don't try to catch them and bring them in the house.
Spence comes home and catches them and tries to undo all that I've been trying to teach in regards to bugs, lizards and amphibians.
So far they haven't brought any creatures into the house. We'll see how long I can keep this up.
Lots of lizards here. We even have one that we named "guard lizard" as it always seems to be on the sidewalk by the front door when we go out.
Tavin should have a great time catching them next time he is here. Tell your dad thanks for teaching him how to do it!!
How fun! William would love to catch a lizard! It seems we have more toads around here though.
